Chenango County vital recordsThe Chenango County Historical Society and the County Historian's Office both operate the James S. Flanagan History Research Center at 43 Rexford Street in the county seat of Norwich, NY. The Center serves as the Chenango County archives and holds a large number of historical and genealogical materials, including census records, vital statistics, town and family histories, cemetery records, and much more. The Center is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00AM till 5:00PM, but closed from noon until 1:00PM for lunch, and appointments can be scheduled outside those hours either by calling at (607) 337-1845 or by email. Additionally, both the County Historian and the County Clerk have large numbers of records on file, and the Clerk provides an online database of the property records it has indexed. The database is a subscription based service and offers several subscription options.
