Collin County vital recordsCollin County records are maintained by the Collin County Clerk (http://www.co.collin.tx.us/county_clerk/index.jsp), who keeps original copies of vital statistics, with copies maintained at the state level. Records include birth and death certificates and marriage licenses. Birth records are confidential for 75 years; death records, 25 years. Texas statewide recording began in 1903, but Collin County has some earlier delayed birth records. Certified copies of vital records are available in person, by mail, or by email. Birth certificates are $23.00; death certificates are $21.00 for the first copy and $4.00 for each additional copy requested at the same time; copies of a marriage license are $7.00.
