Concordia Parish, LA Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Concordia Parish, which borders the Mississippi River, was founded in 1807. The word Concordia is a Latin word which means 'harmony.' It is estimated that Native Americans settled the area thousands of years before Europeans arrived in the 1700s. Concordia Parish was firmly Confederate during the Civil War, even going so far as to offer rewards to any man who enlisted in the Confederate army.
