Crawford County, WI Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Crawford County vital recordsCrawford County, one of two original 1818 state counties, encompassed the western half of the state. Crawford's vital birth records date from 1858, marriages from 1862, and deaths from 1876, but recordkeeping prior to the statewide 1907 mandate was erratic. There is a statewide microfiche index of these records online, with the records at the Wisconsin Historical Society. Records as of October 1907 are available from the Wisconsin Department of Health Office of Vital Records in Madison, or locally at the Prairie Du Chien Register of Deeds, and divorces from the Clerk of Court. Uncertified copies can be ordered by mail, fax, or in person for $20.
