Crockett County, TN Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records
Crockett County, Tennessee, formed in 1871, transfers vital statistics documents to the Tennessee Vital Records Office (http://health.state.tn.us/vr/Genealogy.htm), which keeps birth records for 100 years and death, marriage, and divorce records for 50 years. The Vital Records Office charges $15.00 for certified copies of birth, marriage, and divorce certificates and $7.00 for death certificates. Records are then sent to the Tennessee State Library and Archives (http://www.tn.gov/tsla/history/county/factcrockett.htm) where they are available to the public. The independent company VitalChek (http://www.vitalchek.com/tennessee-express-vital-records.aspx) makes vital statistics available to eligible persons directly over the Internet for a processing fee in addition to the Vital Records Office document cost.
