Dauphin County vital recordsDauphin County birth and death records from 1906 to the present are available at the Division of Vital Records in New Castle. Marriage records can be obtained at the Register of Wills and Orphans Court in the Dauphin County Courthouse in Harrisburg. The cost is $6.00, cash or money order only. Certified copies of divorce decrees can be obtained for $6.50 for the first page and $2.00 for each page thereafter at the Prothonotary Office in the same building. Dauphin County was created on March 4, 1785, and was named after Louis-Joseph, Dauphin of France, the first son of Louis XVI.
