Faribault County vital recordsFaribault County has a large number of historical societies which can aid in vital record and genealogical research in addition to the County Recorder's office which officially handles the records. Most records the Recorder's office has are open to the public; birth and death records begin in 1870 and continue to the present, while marriage records begin in 1865. Genealogists are permitted in the office on weekdays during regular business hours to utilize the research area, and the Recorder office will also perform research for those unable to visit themselves. The office charges $20 an hour, or $9 for each record that needs to be verified. Applications for certified copies of records which can either be mailed or taken in person are listed on the Recorder website. The office charges $26 for birth records, $13 for death certificates, and $9 for marriage records.
