Frontier County, NE Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records
Frontier County, so named for its location being a part of the frontier when it was established in 1872, is located towards the southwest corner of the state. Due to it still being fairly remote and having a large emphasis on agriculture, the population is small, with about 2,700 residents. The county seat of Stockville only had 36 of those residents as of the 2000 census, however it is where the count government offices of the County Clerk and Register of Deeds are located. The two offices are the custodians for property records, marriage licenses, and others. The town of Curtis is considerably larger, with about 1,000 residents, and is where the Frontier County Historical Society is headquartered out of. The Society can be contacted for information regarding the local area and help finding specific records and documents. The Society is membership driven, and is always looking for new people.
