Grant County, MN Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records
Viewing and researching Grant County's vital records can be done in multiple ways, depending on the type of record in question. The Treasurer's Office is responsible for maintaining the county birth and death records, as well as issuing actual certificates. The County Recorder is responsible for recording property records, and it provides two programs for viewing them online. To search marriage records, the county refers users to the Minnesota Official Marriage System, an online database that contains marriage records dating from the early 1900s for all counties in the state. Finally, for genealogical research, Grant County refers the Grant County Museum and Historical Society, which has a number of freely available resources, and which will perform research through their own records, as well as official ones listed in the county courthouse for individuals at a charge of $5 an hour.
