Historical records are at the Western Trails Genealogical Society in Altus and the Oklahoma Historical Society. Marriage and divorce records are held by the Court Clerk in Altus. Jackson County was part of Texas 1860-1896; the Texas Greer County was split into four Oklahoma counties.
