Kandiyohi County vital recordsThe Minnesota GenWeb Project has a Kandiyohi County branch which has a large amount of information and resources on vital records and genealogy for the area. The Heritage Searchers Genealogical Society also has a number of materials located in the Genealogy Room of the Willmar Public Library, and they will perform research for individuals for a fee. Also, the Vital Statistics department with the Kandiyohi County Recorder provides access to records, provided they are included in the public record, as well as certified and uncertified copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates. Most records are listed from the 1870s to the present, and the county has four public computer terminals available for research. The county also utilizes two paid programs which allow remote access and viewing of property records. Record applications can be mailed into the office, rather than taken in person; requests are answered on a first-come, first serve basis.
