Keith County, NE Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Keith County vital recordsOver half of Keith County's approximately 8,300 residents live its only town and county seat of Ogallala. That town is also the home to the Keith County Courthouse which houses the offices of the County Clerk and Recorder of Deeds which are combined into a single position. The office maintains a variety of county records, including marriage, divorce, property, and a number of others. Birth and death records, however, are maintained at the state level by the Department of Health and Human Services. The Department operates its Vital Records Department in Lincoln, NE, which has birth and death certificates dated from the early 1900s. Records younger than 50 years are closed to the public, and only the original recipient or members of the recipient's immediate family may obtain copies. Records dated older than 50 years ago, however, are part of the public record and may be viewed by anyone who is interested.
