Lincoln County vital recordsThe Lincoln County Court Recorder, which has property records indexed from 1874, and birth, death, and marriage records all listed from 1879, is in the Lincoln County Courthouse on 319 N. Rebecca in Ivanhoe, MN. The office performs genealogy searches upon request, as well as provides certified and uncertified copies of records upon submission of the appropriate applications, which are provided at the office. In addition to the Recorder, The Court Administrator's office handles all criminal and civil records, both of which date back to 1870. Further viewing of additional genealogical records can be done with the Lincoln County branch of the Minnesota GenWeb program. The site contains marriage indexes and obituaries from the early 1900s, other early records available on microfilm, and much more. Lincoln County, with less than 6,000 residents, is one of the least populated counties in the state, and the county seat of Ivanhoe actually is the smallest county seat in the state, with only 560 residents.
