Madison County vital recordsThe Madison County Commission at 1 Court Square in the county seat of Fredericktown, MO, is home to the offices of both the Circuit Clerk and Recorder of Deeds, who maintain court records, and property, marriage, plat, and other records, respectively. Both offices are open to the public from Monday till Friday, 8:00AM until 5:00PM. The Recorder's office has records available for research that date back to the early 1800s, and they have deed records available online via the public computer terminals at their office. The Recorder's office can be emailed directly with any specific inquiries. The Madison County Historical Society also provides a large amount of records for research online, including land records from 1819, only one year after the county was formed, to the present, birth and death records from 1883 to 1900, marriage records from 1821 to the present, and more.
