Delaware vital records are available in most cases for $25 by check or money order from the Office of Vital Statistics, with a photo ID required to obtain any record, or a copy if requesting by mail. Delaware marriage records are stored in Dover from 1969, and otherwise in the Archives Hall of Records. Delaware divorce records are available from the state since 1935 and from the county prothonotary until 1975, when that responsibility shifted to the relevant family court. The state cannot provide certified copies of Delaware divorce records. Delaware was for some time a Republican stronghold and was one of six states voting for Hoover in 1932. After 1988, however, the state never voted for another Republican presidential candidate, and after 2000 had two Democrats in the Senate as well as a Democratic governor.
