Pike County, MO Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records
Pike County, one of the larger counties in Missouri total land area, but not in population, was founded in 1818, and the County Recorder has records dating back nearly that far, beginning in 1825. Located on the first floor of the Pike County Courthouse at 115 West Main St. in Bowling Green, MO, the Recorder office is open to public genealogists and researchers Monday through Friday from 8:00AM until 4:30PM. Marriage and property records, tax liens, and military discharges are just a few of the records available at the office. Also in the Courthouse in Room 24 is the Clerk of the Circuit Court who is responsible for maintaining court records, however those records carry more restrictions as far as who can research them. The Pike County Genealogical Society also has a large number of records just down the street from the courthouse at 205 West Main St.
