Polk County vital recordsWithin the Polk County Museum, itself located in a building included on the National Register of Historic Places, in the town of Bolivar, MO, is an Archives Room which houses thousands of historical records and genealogical resources and is run by the Polk County Museum and Historical Society. Access to the museum and the archives have their own prices of admission, with the archives access only costing $2. Also in Bolivar is the Polk County Genealogical Society which also maintains its own Archives Room within the Polk County Genealogical Society Library. All records on file at both locations are open to the public for research purposes, and the latter includes a detailed listing of many of the records available at its physical location. Records for both Societies begin in the early and mid 1800s and continue to the present.
