Sabine Parish, LA Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Despite having a relatively small population, Sabine Parish has been the location of quite a few historically significant events. The parish was founded in 1843, later than the original ones due to a continuing conflict between the Spanish and United State Governments who could not reach a resolution on the borders. In addition, the Battle of Pleasant Hill took place in the parish, which was the last major battle of the Civil War which took place in Louisiana.
