Scott County vital recordsThe Family Services sub-department of the Adult and Families Department in St. Louis County offers the services of a volunteer genealogist who is on staff at the Duluth Courthouse on Thursdays every week. The volunteer operates on a first come, first served, one hour slot basis, however individuals may call ahead and request a specific time slot. Up to three searches are included in the one hour slot for free, however additional ones accrue a $15 per hour charge. The genealogist has access to the birth, death, marriage, civil court, and probate records for St. Louis County, all of which are available from approximately 1870 to the present. Research requests can also be sent by email, or mailed to the office at St. Louis County Recorder's Office, c/o Genealogy, P.O. Box 157, Duluth, MN 55801. Those wanting to obtain certified copies of records may visit one of the three Vital Records Division offices for the county.
