Sherburne County vital recordsMarriage, birth, and death certificates for Scott County are on file with the Land Records Division in the Scott County Government Center. While most indexed files are included in the public record, only those who prove a tangible interest may obtain certified copies of certificates. Birth and death records available from the office are listed from 1871 to the present, while marriage records begin in 1856, and property records in 1853. Instructions, applications, and fee information are all included in the Personal subsection of the Licenses and Permits section of the Scott County website. The Scott County Historical Society maintains a thorough database of records and genealogical materials which are made available via an online database, as well as at the Stans Museum. They also provide a research request form, which can be filled out and mailed in to retain the staff for specific research projects at a cost of $15 per hour.
