St. Charles County vital recordsDue to being part of the St. Louis Metro Area and having a number of suburbs of the city within its borders, St. Charles County is the 3rd most populated county in the entire state with over 360,000 residents as of the 2010 census. The county seat of Saint Charles is the 2nd largest city in the county, the 3rd oldest city in the state, and is where all the county government agencies responsible for record keeping, as well as the county Health Department, and the St. Charles County Historical Society are all located. The Recorder of Deeds is housed in the County Administration Building at 201 N. Second St in Suite 338 and is responsible for keeping and distributing marriage and property records, among several others. The department also makes a large portion of its records on file available online for free.
