Certified copies, private and restricted to immediate family, can be ordered online, by mail, or in person. Historical records prior to 1906, dating as early as 1682, are public and unrestricted, and are maintained by the Sullivan County Historical Society in Laporte and the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg. Marriage and divorce records are unrestricted public court records, and may be obtained from the Sullivan County Clerk of Court in Laporte. Sullivan County was formed in 1847 out of Lycoming County.
