Washington County, NE Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Washington County vital recordsFounded in 1854, Washington County was one of the original eight counties in Nebraska and is one of a huge number in the country named after Revolutionary War Commander in Chief and First President George Washington. The Washington County Genealogical Society provides a fair number of records on its website, including its marriage index which dates from 1856, two years after the county was established, to the end of 2009. The Society also encourages those who need assistance to contact them directly for help. To research additional marriage records, the Washington County Clerk is their official source, and the Register of Deeds is the official source of property records. Also, the Clerk of the District Court handles divorce records, as well as all other criminal and civil court records. All of those departments are located in the county courthouse at 1555 Colfax Street in the county seat of Blair, NE.
