Webster County vital recordsThe county seat of Webster County, named after U.S. Secretary of State Daniel Webster, is the town of Marshfield. The office of the Circuit Clerk is located in the Webster County Courthouse in Marshfield; the office maintains civil and criminal court records. Also in Marshfield at 101 S Crittenden in Room #16 is the County Recorder, who is in charge of maintaining land, military discharge, and marriage records, as well as making them available for research, and assisting members of the public who need help locating specific ones. The office has a large portion of their records computerized for easy access, and they can be emailed with any questions. The Webster County Historical Society operates a museum which has a genealogy research room within at 219 South Clay Street in the same town. Society volunteers will accept and perform research requests for no charge.
