Opt-Out Policy

If you would like to remove your name and address from appearing in the results of searches done at Archives.com, please complete and submit the form on our Opt-Out page. Archives.com will use its best faith efforts to comply with properly completed Opt-Out requests. By submitting an Opt-Out request and as a condition of Archives.com implementing a request, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Opt-Out requests apply to the display of personal information in search results displayed on Archives.com. Archives.com may still publish details which are not specific to you (e.g. the city associated with an area code of a phone number). You must be 18 years of age or older to submit an Opt-Out Request. Opt-Out requests for persons under 18 years of age must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian and are subject to verification.

For an Opt-Out request to be accepted you must be the person or family member of the person associated with the name, address, phone, or email requested for Opt-Out. Archives.com may request proof of ownership and/or confirmation that you are the person claiming to be. Opt-Out requests are not necessarily automatically processed. They are subject to manual approval and verification. Incomplete Opt-Out request submissions will not be processed. Not responding to a request from Archives.com for additional information or confirmation within 30 days of the request will render the Opt-Out request void.

Opting-Out does not remove your name and address from data sources we do not control such as public records, or lists maintained by marketing companies. It only applies to the blocking of your information from appearing in search results on Archives.com.

Opt-Out requests are provided as-is with no warranty of any kind. Archives.com is not responsible or liable for, and shall be released and held harmless for any and all injuries, claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses of any kind (including, without limitation, attorney's fees) resulting from Archives.com accepting, implementing or rejecting an Opt-Out request.

The opt-out term is for 5 years. We reserve the right to extend the term at our discretion. You can contact our support department at any time to find out your current opt-out status. Archives.com reserves the right to temporarily or permanently suspend the Opt-Out feature if we suspect our system has been subject to manipulation or abuse by an automated system or "bot", or any other means of tampering. If we do suspend the feature we will post a notice on our Opt-Out page and process Opt-Out requests directly through our contact form.

Personal Information collected for the purposes of processing Opt-Out requests, including your IP address, name, email address, etc., is used for Archives.com internal purposes only.

This policy is subject to change without notice. Check back to this Opt-Out Policy page for current terms and conditions. If you have questions or need assistance, please use our Contact Us form.
