Osage County vital recordsOsage county, known for the abundance of farmland appropriate for wineries, is part of the area known as the Missouri Rhineland, so called due to its similarity to the area in Germany of the same name. The county was established in 1841, and the Osage County Historical Center has some records dating prior to that, such as census records from 1840 to 1910. The Society operates a The Zewicki House, a historical museum in Linn, MO, containing a genealogy research library known as The "G" Center. The G Center is open year round, however access is limited to Society members exclusively. Museum staff will also perform research requests for members within their time constraints. Also in Linn and open for research is the County Recorder, who has marriage and property records, and family genealogy documents all presented in a free computer terminal that is open to the public.
