In addition to having property records on file dating from 1855 to the present at the office, the Cass County Register of Deeds utilizes an online database that allows individuals to browse property records for free. The Register's office, which is located in Room 206 of the County Courthouse at 346 Main St in Plattsmouth, NE, is open to those who wish to research any available records, all of which are open to the public. The Cass County Historical Society also has a number of records located at the museum it operates at 646 Main Street, also in Plattsmouth. Society members will perform research for the suggested donation of $5 per basic search which generally takes about 15 minutes. They will search through the available records, which include censuses from 1854 to 1930, copies of newspapers on microfilm from the late 1800s and early 1900s, marriage records, family histories, and more.
