Lincoln County, NM Birth, Death, Marriage, Divorce Records

Lincoln County vital recordsPerhaps the most well known county in New Mexico, Lincoln County first reached the national stage in the 1870s during the much publicized Lincoln County War that gave rise to such figures as Billy the Kid, among many others. The County Clerk's office actually has a large number of records dating back to that period and pertaining to some of the key figures involved, as well as a large number of others, such as divorce and marriage records, property deeds, probate records, and much more. The Clerk's office is located at 300 Central Ave in the county seat of Carrizozo, NM. As detailed on the Clerk's website, birth and death records are not kept at that office, but are, instead, maintained by the New Mexico Department of Health in Albuquerque. They are dated from 1919 to the present and available to those who qualify.
